How to measure my piercing jewelry?

If the size is in form 1.2 x 10, the first number tells the gauge (in this example it is 1.2mm). The second number tells the lenght or the diameter (in this example it is 10mm). If the size is in form 1.2 x 10 x 4, the last number tells the size of the ball or cone.

When measuring the lenght of barbell or labret, the lenght is measured between the threads. Not from end to end.

When measuring the lenght of banana, the lenght is measured straight between the threads. Not by following the curve.

In case of BCR, circular barbell and spiral the first number tells the gauge and the second number inner diameter.

When measuring balls, dices and cones the first number tells the size of the thread in the ball/cone for example 1.6 x 4 the thread is 1.6mm. In case of ball/dice the second number tells the diameter. If cone, the second number tells the lenght from the bottom to the tip of the cone. The size of the ball/dice/cone doesn't matter, what makes the difference is the thread in the ball/dice/cone!
